As personal injury attorneys, Cain Firm is passionate about getting justice for people who have been harmed by the negligence or actions of others. We operate as part of the nation’s civil justice system, which aims to provide compensation to those who need it.
As part of our mission to help the community, we decided to offer a $2,500 scholarship to eligible undergraduate and graduate students who craft an original video discussing how they plan to use their law degree to help those in their community who can not help themselves. See the eligibility criteria below before submitting your application.
Eligibility Criteria
The Loving Our Neighbors Scholarship is open to any undergraduate or graduate student who can meet the following criteria:
- Be enrolled in or accepted at an accredited law school
- Agree to the scholarship terms and conditions
- Submit all necessary application materials by the scholarship’s deadline
- Be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work or attend school in the U.S.
Students who do not meet these criteria will have their applications removed from the scholarship pool.
The Application Process
To apply for the Loving Our Neighbors Scholarship, students must complete a 1-2 minute video, edit that video, and post the video to YouTube as unlisted media.
Students can then share their video URL link with Cain Firm alongside other essential information by completing the scholarship application form available on this page.
Students must submit all of the required information along with their videos before the scholarship deadline closes. Applications submitted without all essential information or submitted after the deadline do not qualify for consideration.
Scholarship Video Topic
The civil justice system strives to provide justice to injured people and those negatively affected by the actions or negligence of others, allowing them to recoup monetary compensation for their losses. Craft an original 1-2 minute video describing how you think you can use your law degree to help those in your community who can not help themselves. How do you think you can improve the current justice system and better help or protect society as a fresh incoming graduate of Law Studies?
The firm encourages students to answer this question by citing their own experiences with the civil justice system.
For the videos to be considered eligible students are required to:
- Record their videos in well-lit areas while holding their recording device of choice as still as possible.
- Mention their full name, the name of the scholarship they are applying for, and the year either at the beginning or at the end of their video, and give credits as necessary.
- Specify any sources of information and the media editing tools used in crafting and creating their videos in the description of the video.
- Use only copyright-free content, and come up with a creative, catchy title that reflects their ideas.
Students are free to use any media editing tools, like Adobe Creative Cloud, to include images, effects, or clean cuts in their content, but they are not compulsory. Cain Firm intends to award this scholarship based on the quality of a video’s content and not a student’s demonstrable video editing skills. Therefore, students should take time and care crafting their videos before sitting down to record them.
Any usage of AI platforms to automatically generate videos, and the use of fake actors is strictly prohibited and will lead to automatic disqualification.
Application Deadline
The deadline to apply is December 15, 2024.
Applications received after the deadline will not be taken into consideration.
All submissions will be reviewed by our scholarship selection committee. Depending on the number of applications we receive, the decision process can take anywhere from 1-3 months or more.
For legal reasons, we are unable to accept calls, emails, or other communication regarding the scholarship or an applicant’s status. All the necessary details about this scholarship can be found above. We will contact you if we need supplemental information.

Selection & Award Notification Process

Age, race, religion, gender, national origin, familial status, or other protected classes will have no influence on the committee’s decision.
The firm reserves up to at least three months after the scholarship’s deadline passes to choose a winner from its applicant pool. During this time, neither the firm nor members of its scholarship selection committee can answer questions about the status of a student’s application. Please do not email or call the firm with questions about a student’s scholarship application.
Due to the quantity of applications the firm receives, the firm cannot provide individual notifications to non-winners. The firm will announce its choice of scholarship winner via press releases and blog posts in late 2024. The firm then intends to work with the winning student and their family to deliver the scholarship funds to the student’s university of choice.
